Stylists
Mitchell and Lisa

Mitchell Gordon began hairdressing at 13 as a Saturday boy at John Lester’s in Downham Market. At 16 he went to work full time, and began a day release City & Guilds course at King’s Lynn College.
Lisa Cooper began hairdressing at 16, also at John Lester’s in Downham Market and after three years’ training, she worked as Mitchell’s junior for a further four years.
By 1991, Mitchell and Lisa were both accomplished stylists, and felt ready for the challenge of running their own salon. In April of that year they opened Toppers Hair Design in Ely. 19 years later they have built a strong team of stylists and juniors and a large and loyal customer base.
Mitchell concentrates on the training – making sure the Toppers’ Way is adhered to and standards are maintained. Lisa makes sure the business side of the enterprise runs smoothly. They both still enjoy cutting and styling.
Lynn
A Toppers girl born and bred! She joined Toppers in 1993, trained under Mitchell, and has been been here ever since. Lynn loves to do complete makeover restyles and recently became My New Hair certified.
Zoe
Another of Mitchell’s protégés, Zoe began at Toppers nine and a half years ago on work experience and never left. Zoe enjoys cutting, colouring, and giving Kérastase Rituals.
Michelle
Michelle has been hairdressing for 21 years, and joined Toppers over ten years ago. Michelle is our Kérastase specialist and spends a lot of time diagnosing and treating problem hair – whatever’s wrong, Michelle knows how to fix it. If there’s one thing she loves to do more than anything, it’s a complete change.
Mandy
Mandy has 16 years hairdressing experience after training at college in Norfolk. After working in three other salons, she came to Toppers 10 years ago. Mandy keeps up to date with the latest looks and technology, and enjoys the opportunity Toppers gives her to do courses and continually refresh her skills.
Juniors
Stacey
Stacey has been hairdressing for nearly three years, and began at Toppers in June 2008. She began a hairdressing course at Wisbech College in September 2008, and qualified with an NVQII this year. Stacey likes cutting, particularly on training nights every Wednesday when she has her own regular clients coming in.
Ellis
Ellis started at Toppers straight from school in June 2008. She began a hairdressing course at Wisbech College in September 2008, and is due to quali
fy with an NVQII later this year. Ellis likes cutting hair because it involves a combination of creative expression and technical precision.
Holly
Holly is our Saturday and evening girl. Under Mitchell's expert guidance, Holly is rapidly gaining experience and does shampoos and sets on training nights.
Sue
Our senior assistant on Mondays and Tuesdays when the juniors are off or at college. Sue has been with Toppers for five years and is trained in cleansing as well as all other junior aspects ... and she also bakes excellent cakes for us all.
